Wen is one of our students, his journey from struggling undergraduate to accomplished graduate student at Imperial College London is a testament to resilience and strategic planning in pursuit of academic goals. His story serves as a beacon of hope and guidance for prospective students navigating the competitive landscape of higher education admissions.
When I first encountered Wen, he was facing an uphill battle with his academic record as a second-year Mathematics student at UCL. With an undergraduate average of 58.9, below the requirement for an upper second-class degree, his prospects for admission to prestigious institutions seemed bleak. Recognizing the challenges ahead, I collaborated closely with Wen and his family to craft a targeted application strategy aimed at maximizing his chances of success.
Our approach focused on three key pillars: academic improvement, extracurricular enrichment, and career development. To address his academic challenges, Wen engaged with a specialised tutor from Imperial College, coordinated through Keptain's effort. With dedicated guidance and his own commitment, Wen achieved the satisfactory grades by the end of his third year, laying a solid foundation for his application.
In tandem with academic progress, we strategically enhanced Wen's extracurricular profile to showcase his passion for mathematics and intellectual curiosity. Despite initial hesitations and challenges, Wen participated in research projects facilitated by Keptain, ultimately contributing to a prestigious mathematical endeavor led by a University of Oxford professor. This hands-on experience not only bolstered Wen's application but also highlighted his academic potential and dedication.
Recognising the importance of holistic development, we supported Wen in securing a relevant internship at a gamefi technology company, aligning with his analytical skills and career aspirations. This practical experience not only complemented his academic achievements but also provided valuable insights into potential career pathways, enriching his overall profile.
Through meticulous planning and unwavering perseverance, Wen successfully secured admission to Imperial College London, realizing his aspirations of further education at a renowned institution. Beyond the academic outcome, our journey together emphasized the importance of emotional support and long-term guidance, ensuring Wen's holistic development and well-being throughout the process.
In retrospect, Wen's transformative journey exemplifies the power of resilience, strategic planning, and personalized support in achieving academic success. As he embarks on this new chapter at Imperial College London, his story stands as an inspiration for aspiring students and a testament to the transformative impact of dedicated mentorship and unwavering determination.

In today's dynamic educational landscape, embracing change is not just commendable, it's often essential. When traditional China’s learning methods prove ineffective and incompatible for a student like Cici, exploring new avenues becomes imperative. Introduced to us through familial connections, Cici's story unfolded as a testament to the transformative power of international education.
Cici, a vibrant ninth-grader with a penchant for sports, dancing, and singing, found herself struggling in conventional academic settings. Despite her passions, her academic performance, particularly in Mathematics and English, lagged behind her peers. Initially reserved and shy, Cici's journey towards international education began when her father entrusted our us to guide her towards a more suitable academic path.
Drawing inspiration from her elder sister's successful educational journey in the United States, Cici's family envisioned Singapore as a potential destination. However, mindful of Cici's academic challenges and language proficiency, also the high pressure education environment in Singapore. We proposed New Zealand as a more conducive environment. With its lower academic pressure, immersive English learning opportunities, and excellent value, New Zealand emerged as the ideal choice.
Preparing for this transition required meticulous planning. Recognizing the need to bolster Cici's academic foundation, we devised tailored study plans focusing on mathematics and English. Through rigorous and productive tutoring aligned with New Zealand's curriculum standards, Cici not only enhanced her language skills but also familiarized herself with the instructional methods prevalent in her prospective academic environment.
Navigating the admissions process demanded comprehensive preparation. Addressing Cici's apprehension towards interviews, we employed a multi-faceted approach. Beginning with sessions conducted in both English and Chinese to alleviate her stage fright and gain her confidence in sharing her own thoughts. Then, we progressively simulated interview scenarios, culminating in mock interviews with foreign educators. Cici's stellar performance underscored her readiness for the challenges ahead, our educator commented that her actual oral performance exceeded her scores reflecting in IELTS. Eventually, Cici earned a coveted spot in her desired institution.
Beyond academic considerations, Cici's transition signified a broader exploration of her interests and career aspirations. Liberated from the constraints of China's traditional education system, she found herself immersed in New Zealand's diverse subject offerings. As she approaches the 11th grade, our focus shifts towards aligning her academic pursuits with her long-term goals, ensuring a seamless transition into undergraduate studies. Cici is undergoing a vocational and professional planning courses and following pieces of advice from tutors and mentors.

From academic guidance to personal development, we pledge to provide the support she needs to thrive in her new environment. With each step forward, we eagerly anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead, confident in Cici's potential to excel and inspire others along the way.
